Add Findora to your theme

Adding the filters block, the search embed and the results block in the Shopify theme editor.

Findora is in development. These docs describe the app as it is being built; details can change before it is listed on the Shopify App Store.

Findora is a theme app extension. You add it in the theme editor and remove it the same way; it never edits your theme’s code.

Filters on collection pages

  1. In Shopify, open Online Store → Themes → Customize.
  2. Open a collection page template.
  3. In the section that holds the product grid, choose Add block → Apps → Findora filters.
  4. Save.

The block reads its placement from the Findora admin. To override it for this theme, set Placement in the block: sidebar left, sidebar right, horizontal bar or drawer. The block’s labels (heading, mobile button, clear all, apply button) are edited here too.

When the grid is in another section

Filter clicks refresh the section the block sits in, so the theme’s product grid updates with it. If you place the block in a different section from the grid, enter the grid’s CSS selector in the block’s Advanced settings. Findora then refreshes the whole page instead.

  1. In the theme editor, open Theme settings → App embeds.
  2. Turn on Findora search.
  3. Save.

The embed’s settings cover the placeholder, the submit button, the no-results message, how many products the overlay shows (3 to 10), and whether collections and pages are included.

The results block (optional)

Findora results is a product grid for search and collection templates. Use it when your theme’s own grid does not fit. Its settings cover products per page, columns on desktop and mobile, and pagination: page numbers, or a Load more button. Load more needs Findora’s index; on Shopify’s own data the results always use page numbers.

It works without JavaScript

Every filter is a real link or form control, with values and counts computed by Shopify for that page. Findora’s script only makes the update smooth. If it is blocked or fails, filtering still works.

Removing Findora from a theme

Remove the blocks and turn off the embed in the theme editor. Uninstalling the app removes them from every theme; no code is left behind.
