Display types
The seven ways a filter can be drawn, and when to use each.

Each filter has a display type, chosen on the Filters screen.
| Display type | Best for |
|---|---|
| Checkbox list | Most filters: several values can be combined. |
| Radio list | One value at a time. |
| Dropdown | Long lists in little space, such as a horizontal bar. |
| Colour swatches | Colours, drawn as dots. |
| Image swatches | Patterns and materials, drawn from an image. |
| Button grid | Short values such as sizes. |
| Range slider | Price and other numbers. Price shows a histogram of your catalog. |
Swatches
Swatch shape (circle, square or rounded square) and size are set under Appearance and apply to every swatch filter.
